  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 3/4 cup Hellmann's® or Best Foods® Real Mayonnaise
  • 3 Tbsp. honey
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 8 slices white bread
  • 1 large banana, sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 2 tsp. granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups seltzer
  • Salt
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Panko bread crumbs
  • Confectioners sugar


  1. In a small bowl, combine peanut butter, Hellmann's® or Best Foods® Real Mayonnaise, honey and cinnamon. Set aside.
  2. Build your sandwiches! Lay slices of bread out; top all with mayo mixture and half of the slices with banana. Top with the other slice of bread. Put in refrigerator to firm while you prepare the batter.
  3. Prepare the tempura batter by whisking together flour, cornstarch and sugar. Stream in seltzer water until smooth and season with salt.
  4. Heat oil to 350°. Place panko in a shallow dish. Dip each sandwich in the batter, then coat with panko. Drop each sandwich in the oil (careful to not overload) and fry until golden brown.
  5. Serve hot with confectioners sugar dusted on top.
